Colloquium “Economic transformations in contemporary India”, at BPC

In September 22nd BRICS Policy Center hosted the Colloquium “Economic transformations in contemporary India”, featuring Dr. Fernando Padovani (FGV-RJ/IMI-Nova Delhi). Dr. Padovani, who has just arrived from his 18-month post-doctoral stay in New Delhi’s International Management Institute, debated many pressing issues in Indian politics and economy, revolving around India’s development model and its specificities. Topics ranged from the sophistication of agricultural policies, federative relations, India’s impressive outsourcing of IT technologies and the often complex entanglement of that country with its fellow BRICS countries. The event opened to public from 16:00 to 18:00; it was attended by BPC’s General Coordinator Adriana Abdenur and BPC’s staff, as well as by representatives from other prestigious institutions (CEBRI), academics and graduate students.
